I'll give it all in memory of James From St Helens Star
THERE are days when Kevin Nicholas still expects his son James to stroll back through the front door wearing his characteristic grin and tell everyone he is NikeXXX back.
Fit and healthy, with a bright future seemingly ahead of him, James collapsed at his family's home in Rivington Road, Dentons Green in October last year and later died.
He added: "James loved his sport and had watched Liverpool reserves a few times. He really wanted to go to Anfield and just before we went on holiday I said to him I'd try to get it sorted when I got back."
James, a former De La Salle pupil who had recently graduated from Liverpool John Moores with a degree in finance and accountancy, worked at B on St Helens Retail Park.
Kevin added: "He was a very popular lad and there were lovely comments at his funeral.
"One of his friends, a girl, said to us that he always made sure she was okay and looked after her.
"Another, who was there when he died, said that she looked up to him as a big brother."
Kevin admits some slight anxiety about the run but is determined to complete the course regardless.
"I was always a sprinter at school, but this is 13 miles. I've been training for around six weeks, but I have a bad knee, which I'm going to have to strap up.
